Forward Steps event '09The Forward Steps Project is a crime prevention and diversion project that works with young people to educate and inform them about the consequences and repercussions of getting involved with crime and anti-social behaviour.

The Forward Steps Project works with young people from a range of different settings, including Schools, the Youth Offending Service, youth projects and centres. The project also runs its own Peer Mentor Programme, and holds an annual community safety event in the borough.

The Forward Steps Project run fun and informative sessions, programmes and workshops around relevant topics related to youth crime, such as law and consequences, gun and knife crime, and street gangs.

These sessions allow the young people to explore their own attitudes and behaviours around crime and anti-social behaviour, and give the young people the opportunity to receive the necessary support and guidance to enable them to take more positive forward steps.
