Click for a larger photoThe first Youth Mayor of Ealing has been elected

 

Congratulations to 17 years old Amnah Noor from The Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls, the first Youth Mayor of Ealing. She was elected during a very well attended and emotive event on Wednesday 15 July at Ealing Town Hall.  Seven finalists were chosen from 47 candidates and Amnah took the robe from the other six finalists.

 

Her manifesto:

  • Improve sports facilities in Ealing
  • Produce a regular newsletter describing the goings on of the youth in Ealing
  • To encourage active participation in activities such as youth clubs and sports; in order to diminish boredom that leads to crime

Barbara Yerolemou, the Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Ealing announced the results and welcomed Amnah to her new post.
