What is Connexions?

Deciding your next step can be difficult. ‘Should I get a job or go to college?’ ‘Do I want to go to university in the future, or should I start training?’

However you feel, the Youth and Connexions service is able to provide you with the support and advice you need to make the right decisions.

Whether you are at school or college, in training, employed or out of work, and are aged 13-19, the Youth and Connexions services can give you information, advice and practical help, including advice about careers and courses, job and training opportunities and financial advice.

How does the service work?

So that you don’t have to deal with loads of different organisations once you contact you will be given your own Connexions Personal Adviser (PA), who’ll be able to access the organisations relevant to you.

Your PA will listen to your ideas or problems and help you make the right decisions to achieve your goals by giving you information, advice and practical help. He/she can advise you on what subjects to study at school, which career path to follow, and what training and employment opportunities are available. Your PA can also help with things that may be affecting you at school, college, work or home.

More importantly, the service is confidential, and there for you when and where you need it. Simply log onto , find your PA at your school/college, or pop into your local centre.
