Did you know young people in Ealing have
a voice that is used to influence change
within the council?
Ealing
Youth Action is a dynamic and diverse group
who represents the views of young people in
Ealing. We do this by attending local committee
meetings, scrutiny panels and conferences.
This is the place where we voice our
opinions and influence councillors.
By
getting involved with EYA you will develop
and improve your skills to enable you to put
them into action to make a difference. These
include presentation skills, self-awareness,
and experience
in debates/discussions, campaigns and public
speaking.
Recently we participated in the Local Democracy
Week and had been organising the annual youth
conference Speak Out 2008 that took place on Saturday 26th January
2008 at the Ealing
Town Hall.
We also have representatives at the UK Youth Parliament.
Some of us are involved with the Youth Opportunity/Capital
funds where we decide on funds that are granted
to local groups of young
people. EYA offers young people the opportunity
to set up activities of your choice through
a focus group. Currently young people have
received money from Cash 4 Youth to develop
a DVD project. EYA has also recently published
their first newsletter.
