Do you have an idea
for an activity that doesn’t
happen at present? Would you like to see
an improvement to a building you use or to your area?
You might like to have basketball sessions, dance
classes or a fashion show. You might want to
have a computer suite, a new kitchen or a recording
studio in the building where your group
meets. Or you might like to get some film equipment
and produce a film.
Can I apply?
Well, if you have an idea for a project, think about
what you need for it and decide if you should
apply. You are able to apply for funding if
you fit into one or more of these categories:
Young people from voluntary or community organisations/groups,
which are 'not for profit', or from statutory
groups, such as the council’s
youth centres and/or projects
School students where the out of school hours activity/project is open to young people who do not attend the school, but live in the local area
Youth Opportunity Fund (YOF) and the Youth Capital Fund (YCF) are government grants for young people, which were introduced in 2006/07. 2010/11 is expected to be the final year of funding.
This current round of applications is now closed. Information on the next round will be published here soon.
