PACE is a voluntary organisation promoting the inclusion of young disabled people, their friends and siblings between the ages of 13 and 25 years old in sports and leisure activities e.g. boccia, basketball, karate, yoga, football.
PACE also runs inclusive dance and art workshops. The club meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, 2pm to 4.30pm

Wheelchair Basketball is one of the fastest growing sports for disabled people in the World. Action for Disability in Kensington and Chelsea has a wheelchair basketball team, The Raiders. The team is competing in the second division of the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association. They welcome anyone who would like to come and join the team.  They train every Monday evening from 7pm until 9pm. at the Kensington Sports Centre. Men and women of all levels of playing ability, including beginners, are welcome.

Companion Cycling

This is a volunteer-run scheme in Bushy Park which enables children and adults with additional needs who are unable to ride ‘solo’ to ride purpose-built duo-bikes with a parent/carer, family member or volunteer around the park. Wheelchair rickshaw, tandem and tricycles are also available. Regular sessions run Saturday mornings from 11am-1pm and on Sunday mornings from 10am-1pm. All rides should be booked in advance. It is possible to book sessions in the week.
The ride can be combined with a picnic or an exploration of other parts of Bushy Park.

BTYC Sailing Club based at The Welsh Harp reservoir is a voluntary sailing club specialising in training and amateur racing. BTYC Sailing Club has an RYA Sailability programme for disabled people wanting to learn how to sail and race. The club has two Challenger trimarans that can be sailed by mobility impaired sailor on their own. The club welcomes independent disabled people who would like to learn how to sail and race. The club holds taster sessions from April to September for a charge of £10. The sessions take place on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm.

The Werewolves of London Special Ice hockey club offers a special needs ice hockey programme for children from 5 years up and adults who have developmental disabilities such as Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Downs Syndrome and other learning disabilities. Open to non-skaters, beginners, through to established skaters this non-contact, non-competitive programme aims to offer physical exercise, while enhancing gross motor skills, self-confidence, self-esteem and social skills, with an emphasis on having fun. Werewolves run two sessions on alternate Saturdays that are always well attended and they welcome new members regardless of ability. The hockey season falls between September and the end of May. There are usually about 19 practice sessions during the season on mostly, alternate Saturdays, between 4.15pm and 6.30 pm.

There is a charge of £140 pounds for the season to help cover costs (a pro-rata adjustment will be made for players joining part-way through the season). In addition, the English Ice Hockey Association registration fee for 2008/09 will be £39 (under 16s) or £52 (over 16s). Full ice hockey protective equipment is mandatory but available on loan free of charge, subject to availability, thanks to funding from Awards for All.

Group lessons have a maximum of four riders thereby ensuring riding progresses quickly, around Richmond Park, Ham Common, and Wimbledon Common. Hard hats and back protectors are available for hire. Pony days and pony weeks for children are held during the school holidays. They have a very active Riding for the Disabled Group based at Barnfield. Discounts are offered to disabled riders.

Swimming Lessons

A structured swimming/ aquatics session in the main shallow pool for young people (14+) with disabilities, led by 2 qualified teachers. The session is a drop in session where level and numbers can vary. Children need to be water confident and can bring a carer/support worker if required. The session is free of charge and also encourages parents/guardians to attend. Every other Saturday 2pm - 4pm.
