Playground for children with disabilities and special needs. Siblings and friends welcome.


Indoor and outdoor play equipment and activities suitable for children with disabilities. A secure 2-acre site with a log cabin that houses a multi sensory room, sound and music room, and large interactive soft play area. Opportunities for playing with arts and craft materials and a computer. Outdoors there is a sensory garden; sand pit and water play in the summer, swings and bikes suitable for children with physical disabilities.


No café facilities but there are picnic tables for eating your own food.
Small charge for children, but you can stay all day.  Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am till 3.30pm. Must be booked in advance.

Enjoy a ride from Ruislip Lido Station to Woody Bay Station beside the beach! Great value miniature train rides through woods and around the lake. Santa specials at Christmas. 


After you ride you can stop off at Charlie Chalk’s pub/restaurant and indoor play area, by the Lido, for tea. Play area suitable for wheelchair users. Trains run Sunday all year, Saturdays April – Oct and daily during school holidays.

The oldest model village in the world, portraying rural England in the 1930’s where time has stood still. A miniature wonderland with six villages, each with their own tiny population going about their daily routines. Subtle humour in some delightfully named shops and businesses.


Many moving models including a model railway which runs right through the 1½-acre site. Picnic area and well-equipped small playground. The narrow paths around the villages will not take double buggies but are suitable for wheelchairs. Open daily from mid Feb- end Oct, 10am – 5pm.

Hands on interactive science and nature exhibition suitable for all ages.  Alongside woodland with picnic area and adventure playground.  Also mountain bike hire and walks.  Accessible for wheelchair users. Open daily 10am till 5pm.

Railway museum for dedicated train fans. Open Saturdays and Sundays and most school holidays from 10.30 – 5pm. On certain days you can drive a steam train or see Thomas the Tank engine. There is a flight of stairs into the centre that could be difficult for people with mobility difficulties. Ring or email to book assistance to help carry wheelchairs up the stairs.
